VOLUME 7, NUMBER 197
Tuesday, September 8, 2026
Good morning, Philomath.
Philomath High’s girls have historically done very well at The Ultimook, a challenging cross-country meet near Tillamook — and last weekend was no exception. Philomath Fire and Rescue’s call log includes extinguishing a small wildland fire along Alsea Highway. Philomath Police responses included an egg-stand theft. The girls soccer team posted a victory over Crook County. The boys soccer team rallied late for a tie against Baker. In partner content, we have a piece on the slow progress seen with renaming Oregon’s offensive place names. — Brad Fuqua, Publisher/Editor
