Editor’s note: This report is based on information submitted by the Philomath Police Department. All calls for service may not be included. The status of incidents might change after further investigation. Locations are approximate and may not be included if it could identify victims of certain crimes of a sensitive nature (sexual abuse, stalking, etc.). Individuals are identified in the log only if arrested on felony charges. Calls that involve the Department of Human Services and minor children are not included. Juveniles are not identified. People arrested or suspected of crimes are considered innocent until proven otherwise.

FRIDAY, AUG. 28

• 12:10 p.m. — Police arrested a 40-year-old Philomath woman in the 400 block of Northwest Fourth Street in Corvallis on a misdemeanor charge of violating a release agreement after allegedly sending a text message to an individual on a no-contact list. 

Other calls: Police responses included a noise disturbance at 12:09 a.m. (Paul J. Cochran Veterans Memorial Park), citizen contact at 5:17 p.m. (Chapel Drive) and extra patrol duty at 11:34 p.m. (South 11th Street). In addition, police assisted another agency on a call at 5:34 p.m. (Heritage Hills Drive). PPD reported one traffic stop.

SATURDAY, AUG. 29

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included a verbal argument over a parking spot on a public street at 11:12 a.m. (Applegate Street), 59-year-old woman bit by a dog at 3:25 p.m. (South 30th Street) and a noise complaint at 9:52 p.m. (Adelaide Drive). PPD reported three traffic stops.

SUNDAY, AUG. 30

• 12:01 p.m. — Police arrested a 32-year-old Albany man on a warrant out of Albany Municipal Court for failure to appear. The man was transported to Linn County Jail.

• 1:55 p.m. — Police responded to a report of theft in the 1400 block of Main Street with cash stolen from an egg stand in a parking lot.

• 4:05 p.m. — Police responded to a report of people arguing in a homeless camp near North 13th Street and Pioneer Street. Upon arrival, officers contacted a property resident, who said two people had been arguing but left before officers arrived. Other people on the property said they hadn’t heard anything. The property has multiple travel trailers and RVs where people are without water or power. No one needing assistance was located and no report was taken.

Other calls: Police responses included a report of a dog barking at 5:18 a.m. (Applegate Street), complaint of a rooster on a property at 10:26 a.m. (North Ninth Street), verbal argument at 11:48 a.m. (Main Street), welfare check at 2:17 pm. (South Ninth Street and Applegate Street), extra patrol duty at 6:27 p.m. (South 11th Street), non-911 issue at 7:51 p.m. (Applegate Street) and motorist assistance at 11:50 p.m. (Applegate Street and South 23rd Street). In addition, police assisted another agency on a call at 4:27 p.m. (Highway 34). PPD reported three traffic stops.

MONDAY, AUG. 31

• 5:53 p.m. — Police arrested a 36-year-old Philomath man at Applegate Street and South 12th Street on a warrant for failure to appear on a criminal citation. The man was cited and released.

Other calls: Police responses included a civil dispute at 9:03 a.m. (South 16th Street), complaint of a tree blocking a view at 10:29 a.m. (Main Street), civil dispute at 11:59 a.m. (South 16th Street), citizen assistance at 5:08 p.m. (Applegate Street), juvenile complaint at 6:41 p.m. (Chapel Drive) and a noise disturbance at 8:38 p.m. (Maple Street). In addition, police assisted other agencies on calls at 3:01 a.m. (Main Street and North 17th Street), 3:23 a.m. (Southwest Philomath Boulevard and Southwest Country Club Drive, Corvallis) and 8:18 p.m. (Greenberry Road and Bellfountain Road). PPD reported five traffic stops.

TUESDAY, SEPT. 1

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included a suspicious circumstance involving mail delivery at 9:24 p.m. (College Street). PPD reported two traffic stops.

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 2

• 3:09 p.m. — Police responded to a report of shoplifting in the 1700 block of Main Street.

Other calls: Police responses included a barking dog at 8:06 a.m. (Pioneer Street), city ordinance violation at 9:54 a.m. (South 15th Street), dog at large at 6:51 p.m. (Newton Street and Jeffery Place) and a welfare check at 7:51 p.m. (Applegate Street). PPD reported three traffic stops.

THURSDAY, SEPT. 3

• 12:39 p.m. — Police arrested a male juvenile on a misdemeanor charge of fourth-degree assault following a report of a physical confrontation between two juveniles. The boy was cited and released.

Other calls: Police responses included a report of a lost package at 3:20 p.m. (Applegate Street). In addition, police assisted another agency at 5:52 a.m. (Highway 20 and Marys River Estates Road). PPD reported three traffic stops.
