The Philomath High School boys soccer team scored in the 65th minute to force a tie against Baker on Saturday morning at the Bend Soccer Showcase.

Neither team could find the net in the first half. Baker broke the scoreless tie in the 53rd minute, but 12 minutes later junior Sammy Hernandez tied it after being moved to forward, dribbling past both center backs before finding the net.

After playing three games in five days to open the season, the Warriors will now take a 10-day break from competition. Philomath will take an 0-2-1 record into a Sept. 15 road trip to Dallas.

Baker, a team out of the Greater Oregon League, goes to 0-2-1 on the season.
