Good morning, Philomath.

Benton County received funding for an expert assessment of its criminal justice and corrections systems. The Philomath Police Log’s latest entries include a hit-and-run, fraud report and a bus incident. Philomath Fire and Rescue helped at the scene of a motorcycle crash and also an outbuilding fire on Highway 99. The OSU arboretum curator will be featured at this week’s Dementia Warriors meeting — and the public is invited. I’m on vacation until June 22, so I’ve chosen some features from the past to revisit for extra content. Today’s is a story that I wrote in 2021 about the “dogs of the Philomath School District.” — Brad Fuqua, Publisher/Editor
