The Dementia Warriors support group will welcome a special guest presenter at its next meeting — an Oregon State University expert who will take attendees on a tour of one of the Willamette Valley’s most distinctive living museums.

Dan Blanchard, curator of Living Plant Collections at OSU, will present on the Corvallis campus arboretum during the group’s June 17 meeting. The session runs from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Philomath. The event is open to the general public.

Blanchard’s presentation will explore the history and regional significance of the accredited living museum, which spans 423 acres and features a diverse collection of trees and woody plants. Known for his enthusiasm for horticulture, Blanchard aims to help his audiences develop a deeper appreciation for the plants and landscapes around them.

The Dementia Warriors meet the first and third Wednesday of each month at Peace Lutheran Church. The group supports individuals with dementia and their families through twice-monthly meetings, social outings, easy walks, coffee chats and a private Facebook group.
