THURSDAY, JUNE 4

• 9:15 a.m. — Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 140 northeast of Lakeview that took the life of John Lester Hunter, 69, of Donnelly, Idaho. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Hunter was riding a multi-colored KTM motorcycle eastbound on Highway 140 when it left the roadway for an unknown reason and struck a tree. Hunter was declared deceased at the scene.

FRIDAY, JUNE 5

• 10:32 a.m. — Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 26 near Hamlet in Clatsop County that took the life of Brittany Ann Estella Lute, 30, of Long Beach, Washington. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Lute was driving an eastbound Nissan Kicks when the vehicle crossed into the westbound lane and struck a utility pole on the westbound shoulder. Lute was declared deceased at the scene. Lute is not believed to have been wearing a seatbelt at the time. Impairment is believed to be a contributing factor in the crash, OSP reported.

• 12:44 p.m. — Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 97 north of Terrebonne in Deschutes County that took the life of Mary Lou Dooms, 82, of Redmond. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that a northbound Nissan Titan driven by a 64-year-old Redmond man was traveling on Highway 97 when it attempted a left turn into the Peter Skene Ogden Rest Area and failed to yield to southbound traffic. The Nissan was struck by a southbound Honda Passport driven by a 21-year-old Madras man. Dooms, a passenger in the Nissan, was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries and later died. The Nissan’s driver was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. Two Honda passengers, a 20-year-old Culver woman and a 25-year-old Bend man, were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
