VOLUME 7, NUMBER 123
Wednesday, June 3, 2026
Good morning, Philomath.
A few weeks ago, I sat down with Syd Cothern, a Philomath High senior who has had to overcome more than most to earn a diploma. She is the subject of a feature story as we get closer to PHS graduation day. In sports, PHS sophomore Rylee Martin made all-conference first team in softball with five others also earning recognition. ODOT crews announced plans to upgrade curb ramps along Highway 20 in Philomath. Siuslaw National Forest issued a report on fire danger. This week’s Mount Union Stories subject is a teacher who died in 1925. Benton County named a permanent county administrator. — Brad Fuqua, Publisher/Editor
