FRIDAY, MAY 22
• 3:47 p.m. — Firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire in the Forest Meadows community on North 19th Street and responded with nine personnel in two engines, a ladder truck and a command vehicle. The information from dispatch included that a fire had started on the front porch and that neighbors were working to extinguish it while the house was being evacuated. See separate story.
• 4:39 p.m. — Emergency medical services personnel were dispatched to a crash reportedly with injuries in the 200 block of South 23rd Street near Philomath City Park and responded with eight personnel in an engine, a rescue vehicle and a command vehicle. Upon arrival, crews found a man who had crashed his electric scooter. Medical care was provided and he was transported via Corvallis Fire ambulance to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.

SATURDAY, MAY 23
• 4:20 p.m. — Firefighters were dispatched to a small wildland fire on Botkin Road and responded with 10 personnel in three brush trucks, a water tender, a command vehicle and a drone. The fire started unintentionally in slash and extended uphill into the tree line. Working in unified command with the Oregon Department of Forestry, crews used direct attack to suppress and contain the fire to approximately 1 acre. A line was dug around the perimeter, and burned areas were overhauled and mopped up. The Philomath crew left forestry water lines in place for ODF use.

SUNDAY, MAY 24
• 7:09 p.m. — Firefighters responded to a fire alarm activation in the 2000 block of Applegate Street.

MONDAY, MAY 25
• No calls of public significance reported.

TUESDAY, MAY 26
7:06 p.m. — A firefighter was dispatched to a smoke investigation in the 31000 block of Whitman Way and responded in a command vehicle. Upon arrival, a smoldering burn pile was found behind the residence.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 27
• 10:38 a.m. — Firefighters were dispatched to provide automatic aid for a structure fire on North Third Street in the Alsea Fire Department’s district and responded with four personnel in an engine and a command vehicle. Upon arrival, Alsea command indicated an additional need for more water. The Philomath engine established a water supply on a hydrant and provided a defensive fire attack along with assistance from the Corvallis Fire Department and the Oregon Department of Forestry.
