VOLUME 7, NUMBER 118

Good morning, Philomath.

After graduating from high school, Philomath long-distance runner Ben Hernandez went to Mexico City to serve a two-year mission. Last year, he returned and started competing for Western Oregon after not keeping up with training while out of the country. That story, plus Janice Hellesto’s track and field accomplishments and a local gymnast’s performance at a regional meet are featured in my Warrior Watch sports column. The BCSO Log includes three driving-related arrests in three days, Lumina is hosting a special event on Saturday, Philomath girls basketball is planning its annual youth camp and the Benton County Fair and Rodeo announced its concert lineup. — Brad Fuqua, Publisher/Editor
