The Philomath Public Art Committee will continue developing the city’s Public Art Plan and hear an update on the downtown temporary art program when it meets Thursday.

The meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at Philomath City Hall and will be livestreamed on the city’s YouTube channel.

The committee will pick up its review of the draft Public Art Plan, which is intended to provide a roadmap for implementing and sustaining public art projects throughout Philomath while coordinating efforts among the city, community partners and artists. Members reviewed the first three sections of the draft earlier this year and recommended several changes.

Also on the agenda, the committee will receive an update on the Downtown Temporary Art Program. The City Council approved the committee’s recommendation of four sculptures for installation in the downtown area at its April 13 meeting and staff are finalizing agreements and installation details with the artists. Installation is tentatively scheduled for July 16 and 17.
