FRIDAY, OCT. 18

• 6:59 a.m. — Emergency medical services responded to a single-vehicle crash on Kings Valley Road just south of Hoskins Road. The call was canceled en route. For more details on the crash, see the Oct. 24 BCSO Log.

Other calls: Emergency medical services responded to a call at 11:08 p.m. (Cardwell Hill Road).

SATURDAY, OCT. 19

• 11:43 a.m. — Emergency medical services responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 20 about 3 miles west of Blodgett. All of those involved in the incident refused medical transportation. Fire and Rescue’s response included one engine crew with a duty officer to assist Blodgett-Summit Rural Fire at the scene. For more details on the crash, see the Oct. 24 BCSO Log.

• 5:22 p.m. — Firefighters went on standby at Southwest 53rd Street and Philomath Boulevard for the Corvallis Fire Department.

SUNDAY, OCT. 20

• 6:23 p.m. — Firefighters responded to a pressurized gas leak in the 24000 block of Gellatly Way. The incident involved a ruptured three-fourth inch gas line. An engine crew stood by until NW Natural arrived to secure the line. No injuries were reported.

MONDAY, OCT. 21

TUESDAY, OCT. 22

• 5:42 p.m. — Firefighters went on standby at the Benton County Fairgrounds as backup for the Corvallis Fire Department.

• 11:42 p.m. — Firefighters went on standby at the Benton County Fairgrounds as backup for the Corvallis Fire Department.

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 23

• No calls of public significance reported.

THURSDAY, OCT. 24

• 7:50 a.m. — Emergency medical services responded to a single-vehicle crash in the 28000 block of Bellfountain Road. Fire and Rescue responded with an engine crew, light rescue vehicle and a duty officer. The driver was helped from the vehicle by her husband, who had been following behind in another vehicle. The woman was checked over by EMS personnel and refused medical transportation.

• 2:45 p.m. — Firefighters responded to a report of a small wildland fire in the 24000 block of Gellatly Way. The situation involved a burn pile that escaped and burned approximately 1-1/2 acres. Fire and Rescue responded with a brush truck and water tender along with an incident commander. Firefighters remind the public to ensure that burn piles are maintained in a way to prevent the spread of embers and to have adequate water or other materials on hand to prevent spread. In addition, burn piles should also be attended during active burning.
