DAILY REPORTS
FRIDAY, OCT. 18
• 9:04 a.m. — Police arrested a 43-year-old Corvallis woman on a warrant out of Benton County Circuit Court for failure to appear on a fourth-degree assault charge. Police encountered the woman at a Philomath motel after receiving a report of a disturbance in one of the rooms. Police determined that the woman appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis.
• 1:11 p.m. — Police took a report from a resident at the station regarding a gift card that had been purchased and gifted to an individual only to find that there was no money on the card. The grocery store where the card had been purchased advised the resident that it was necessary for a police report to be filed for reimbursement purposes.
Other calls: Police responses included a repossessed vehicle at 1:41 a.m. (McCall Way), extra patrol at 9:27 a.m. (Newton Street), police officer hold at 11:38 a.m. (North 14th Street) and a welfare check at 4:48 p.m. (Applegate Street). In addition, police assisted another agency on a call at 10:12 a.m. (Northwest Harrison Boulevard, Corvallis). PPD reported no traffic stops.
SATURDAY, OCT. 19
• 4:26 p.m. — Police responded to a report of shoplifting in the 1700 block of Main Street. No other details were made available other than a report was taken and assigned a case number.
Other calls: Police responses included a found dog at 12:06 p.m. (Kings Valley Highway and Alexander Road), citizen assistance at 4:13 p.m. (Deer Creek Way), unsecured premises at 7:22 p.m. (Main Street) and a domestic disturbance at 11:22 p.m. (Newton Place). In addition, police assisted another agency on a call at 9:26 p.m. (Southwest Philomath Boulevard, Corvallis). PPD reported six traffic stops.
SUNDAY, OCT. 20
• No calls of significance were reported.
Other calls: Police responses included a report of a scream for help at 7:17 a.m. (South 17th Street) and an incident categorized as other criminal activity at 5 p.m. (Main Street). PPD reported two traffic stops.
MONDAY, OCT. 21
• 9:19 a.m. — Police responded to an apartment complex to assist Philomath Fire and Rescue at the scene of a medical call involving a woman who was experiencing a seizure or stroke inside of a locked car. Emergency medical services personnel were unable to gain access and needed to break out the front passenger window. A police report was requested to document the damage. The car was a “loaner” vehicle from a dealership in Corvallis and police called to inform the business about the status of their vehicle. The occupant of the vehicle was transported to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis via ambulance.
Other calls: Police responses included violation of an order at 9:08 a.m. (College Street), suspicious circumstance at 11:06 a.m. (Main Street), non-911 issue at 6:26 p.m. (North 11th Street and Pioneer Street), unsecured premises at 8:47 p.m. (Main Street), motorist assistance at 9:29 p.m. (Main Street) and shots heard at 10:31 p.m. (South 13th Street). In addition, police assisted another agency at 5:18 p.m. (Applegate Street). PPD reported one traffic stop.
TUESDAY, OCT. 22
• No calls of significance were reported.
Other calls: Police responses included a juvenile issue at a school at 10:13 a.m., abandoned vehicle at 10:16 a.m. (North 19th Street and Industrial Way), dog at large at 10:54 a.m. (North 10th Street and Pioneer Street) and a non-911 issue at 12:54 p.m. (North 14th Street). PPD reported five traffic stops.
WEDNESDAY, OCT. 23
• 12:06 p.m. — Police reported a case involving eluding in the 3200 block of West Hills Road. No other details were made available other than a report was taken and assigned a case number.
• 6 p.m. — Police arrested Hugo Enrique Gomez-Tapia, 39, of Philomath, in the 700 block of South 15th Street on a felony warrant.
Other calls: Police responses included an abandoned vehicle at 7:50 a.m. (Main Street) and a narcotics offense at 10:40 a.m. (North 14th Street and College Street). In addition, police assisted another agency at 9:18 p.m. (Main Street and South 24th Street). PPD reported six traffic stops.
THURSDAY, OCT. 24
• No calls of significance were reported.
Other calls: Police responses included citizen assistance at 9:15 a.m. (Main Street), suspicious person at 10:24 a.m. (Main Street), found property at 11:25 a.m. (Applegate Street), miscellaneous information at 4:39 p.m. (North 14th Street) and a civil dispute at 5:51 p.m. (North 19th Street). PPD reported five traffic stops.
