TUESDAY, JUNE 9
• 1:25 p.m. — BCSO arrested Kaden Ray Berkovatz, 20, of Philomath, on a warrant for failure to appear on a first-degree rape charge after a GPS ankle monitor showed his location at a business along Main Street. Berkovatz was transported to Benton County Jail.
THURSDAY, JUNE 11
• 8:58 a.m. — BCSO arrested Shane Williams Cawthon, 48, of Albany, on charges of first-degree criminal mischief, reckless burning, reckless endangering and second-degree criminal trespass, along with a Lane County parole violation warrant, after a shed fire was reported on Highway 99W. Cawthon told deputies he had lit a candle that caught the top of a desk on fire. He was transported to Benton County Jail. Philomath Fire and Rescue was among the agencies dispatched to the fire. • BCSO took a report from a 39-year-old Blodgett woman who said her Glock 43X handgun, valued at $500, was stolen about three weeks earlier. The woman said the juvenile who took the gun removed its serial number and traded it to another juvenile. The firearm was entered into the law enforcement database as stolen.
SATURDAY, JUNE 13
• 5:06 p.m. — BCSO responded to a head-on, two-vehicle collision on Highway 20 about 4 miles west of Philomath and arrested a 22-year-old Sweet Home man on charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving, reckless endangering and fourth-degree assault. A blood sample was seized at the hospital pursuant to a search warrant and was to be sent to the Oregon State Crime Laboratory for analysis.
MONDAY, JUNE 15
• BCSO reported the April 8 arrest of Ricky Lee Wolfe, 68, of Siletz, on an outstanding U.S. Marshals warrant related to dangerous drugs charges in the parking lot of a Main Street business in Philomath. Wolfe was transported to Benton County Jail.
