The Benton County Historical Society plans to offer a special event Friday and Saturday at Philomath Museum to complement a current exhibit on Oregon’s wine history.

“Fullerton Wines: Wine Tasting With Clink!” will run during the museum’s open hours (10 a.m.-4:30 p.m.) on April 4-5. The event includes free wine tasting.

The exhibit, “Clink! A Taste of Oregon Wine” opened Feb. 5 and will remain in place until May 4. On loan from the Oregon Historical Society, the exhibit explores the story of Oregon wine and some of the moments that make up its history.

The narrative spans over 150 years from the pioneers who brought grapevines on the Oregon Trail to the winegrowers who blazed a new trail in the 1960s to the innovations continuing to take place across the state. Visitors can also learn about the seasonal workers who support an entire industry and the dedication of people who have grown, made and embraced Oregon wine.

Admission to Philomath Museum is free.
