The Philomath Sensational Senior Society will hold its regular monthly meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 14 at the Rebekah Social Lodge.

Philomath Fire and Rescue Chief Chancy Ferguson and Dr. David Grube will guide attendees through advance directives — the legal document that allows individuals to specify their medical wishes in the event they are unconscious or otherwise unable to communicate.

Ferguson brings firsthand experience to the topic, as emergency calls handled by his department frequently involve situations where advance directives are relevant. Grube’s addition as a speaker was confirmed after the group’s last column went to publication.

The meeting is open to all. The PSSS welcomes anyone 55 and older and charges no fees to attend. The Rebekah Social Lodge is located at 148 N. 13th St.
