CORVALLIS — Samaritan Health Services invites the public to join Dr. Adam Brady, infectious disease specialist and chair of the Samaritan Coronavirus Task Force, on Thursday for a virtual seminar to learn how the new coronavirus vaccines work and the latest on their availability in the region.

“In this rapidly evolving situation, distribution plans developed by the Oregon Health Authority have set forth a framework for distributing the initial limited doses of vaccine as they arrive in the state,” a press release states. “Samaritan is working with county public health partners, under the direction of the OHA, to help administer vaccines in our region as quickly, efficiently and equitably as possible.

The safety factor with receiving the vaccine and when will it become available more widely are among the questions expected to be covered. Following the initial presentation, the doctor will take questions.

The event is scheduled to begin at noon Thursday, Jan. 21. To register, go to samhealth.org/BeHealthy. Organizers said registrants will receive a confirmation email with details on how to access the event.
