The Philomath Planning Commission plans to meet at 6 p.m. today through videoconferencing to select a new chair and to prioritize topics to discuss this year.

The process to select a new chair and vice chair is a routine procedure that occurs at the first meeting of the calendar year. Joseph Sullivan is the current chair.

The prioritization of topics for 2021 came about through guidance issued by the City Council. Discussions include Committee for Citizen Involvement, Comprehensive Plan updates and establishment of a Downtown Design Manual ahead of the streetscapes project planned for the summer of 2022.

The meeting is also expected to include a staff report from City Planner Pat Depa. His report includes updates on several current and future projects.

The city plans to hold the meeting via Zoom. The public can watch the live feed of the meeting on the city’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/cityofphilomath.
