The Philomath High School girls tennis team won three of four singles matches and three of four doubles matches in a decisive win on the road Wednesday over Cascade.
Warriors senior Lucy King at No. 1 singles pulled away from Cascade senior Kenzie Clausen for a 6-4, 6-1 win. At No. 2 singles, junior Lucy Thomas was a 6-3, 6-3 winner over senior Kohyn Daugherty. Sophomore Ella Hammonds posted a victory at No. 4 singles over junior Lilly Strasser, 6-4, 2-6, 6-3, in the only match of the afternoon that went to three sets.
In doubles, senior Maggie King and junior Lizzie Workman teamed up for a 6-2, 6-1 win in the No. 2 spot. Sophomores Bethany Cannon and Bella Nuñez posted a 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 3 doubles. And seniors Logan Cook and Lacey Bacho were 6-3, 6-3 winners at No. 4.
Philomath is scheduled to play again Thursday with a third straight road trip — this one to Estacada.
