The Philomath High School boys tennis team played for the fifth time in nine days Wednesday and dropped a Special District 2 match on its home court to Cascade, 7-1.
Warriors freshman Andrew Sims had the lone victory for the team with a 6-1, 6-1 showing against Cascade senior Dalton Kuenzi. Sims now has a 10-0 record in singles matches this season.
In the only match to go the full three sets, PHS senior Lane Schell got off to an encouraging start against Josue Pimentel Da Silva but the Cascade freshman ended up with a 1-6, 6-2, 6-1 win.
The Warriors are scheduled to play at PHS at 4 p.m. Thursday vs. Estacada.
