The status of incidents might change after further investigation. Locations are approximate and may not be included if it could identify victims of certain crimes of a sensitive nature (sexual abuse, stalking, etc.). Individuals are identified in the log only if arrested on felony charges. Calls that involve the Department of Human Services and minor children are not included. Juveniles are not identified. People arrested or suspected of crimes are considered innocent until proven otherwise.
FRIDAY, AUG. 1
• 1:22 a.m. — Police assisted the Benton County Sheriff’s Office at the scene of a single-vehicle crash on Highway 20 in the area between Lone Star Road and Woods Creek Road. BCSO reported that the driver suffered minor injuries.
• 8:40 a.m. — Police arrested a 19-year-old Philomath man at a Southwest Hollyhock Circle location in Corvallis on a misdemeanor charge of pointing a firearm at others with intimidation or threats following an alleged incident in the 100 block of North Eighth Street.
• 12:37 p.m. — Police took a report of fraud involving a man on Pioneer Street who was reportedly scammed out of $3,341 after he had been told there was a warrant for his arrest.
• 2:54 p.m. — Police responded to a report from a citizen who said someone claiming to have her cat that went missing stopped responding.
• 3:07 p.m. — Police took a report in the 1900 block of College Street of a Toyota Tacoma that dumped trash into an apartment complex’s dumpster.
Other calls: Police responses included a welfare check at 10:45 p.m. (South 13th Street). PPD reported one traffic stop.
SATURDAY, AUG. 2
• 6:31 p.m. — Police arrested a 23-year-old Lebanon woman on a warrant during a traffic stop on Highway 20 and Garrett Lane.
• 9:56 p.m. — Police gave a courtesy ride to a man who was observed stumbling while walking along Main Street.
• 10:38 p.m. — Police assisted another agency in the 800 block of Marilyn Drive for a report of an elderly woman who had fallen into a glass shower door and suffered apparent minor injuries.
• 10:44 p.m. — Police assisted an 82-year-old man with locating his resident in Corvallis after he became lost.
Other calls: Police responses included a dog complaint at 5:02 p.m. (Quail Glenn Drive) and citizen contact at 8:46 p.m. (Southwest Country Club Drive, Corvallis). In addition, police assisted Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center with the identification of a patient at 3:10 p.m. (South 13th Street). PPD reported 13 traffic stops.
SUNDAY, AUG. 3
• 3:34 a.m. — Police arrested a 48-year-old Waldport woman for probation violation in the 1400 block of Main Street.
• 5:09 p.m. — Police gave a courtesy ride to a man who was walking along South 15th Street while yelling and punching fences. A report was to be forwarded to Benton County Sheriff’s Office Parole and Probation office for review.
• 8:45 p.m. — Police arrested Travis Bradley Teague, 34, of Philomath, on a felony charge of driving while suspended during a traffic stop in the 400 block of North 11th Street. Teague was transported to Benton County Jail.
Other calls: Police responses included a suicidal subject at 12:22 a.m., report of suspicious person at 5:18 a.m. (North 11th Street) and citizen contact at 4:19 p.m. (South 13th Street). PPD reported six traffic stops.
MONDAY, AUG. 4
• 2:19 p.m. — Police received a report from a pawn shop about suspicious circumstances. When the broker tried to contact someone who had pawned items, a different person answered the phone and refused to let them speak with the original customer.
Other calls: Police responses included a dog at large at 9:14 a.m. (North 12th Street and Houser Lane), littering violation at 9:25 a.m. (Main Street), non-911 issue at 4:10 p.m. (Newton Place) and an extra patrol at 9:34 p.m. (North 19th Street). PPD reported three traffic stops.
TUESDAY, AUG. 5
• 6:59 p.m. — Police responded to a report of trespassing in the 600 block of Main Street. Police discovered that the person had been invited by another resident to be at the property.
Other calls: Police responses included a dog complaint at 8:22 a.m. (South 11th Street), traffic hazard at 10:25 a.m. (North Ninth Street and Pioneer Street), dog in hot vehicle at 2:35 p.m. (Main Street) and National Night Out detail at 5:55 p.m. (Philomath City Park). PPD reported one traffic stop.
WEDNESDAY, AUG. 6
• 10:16 a.m. — Police arrested a 60-year-old Philomath man on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants (drugs) following a traffic stop at North 19th Street and Industrial Way.
• 10:07 p.m. — Police arrested a 42-year-old Philomath man on active warrants while investigating a report of disorderly conduct in the 1800 block of College Street.
Other calls: Police responses included a welfare check at 6:54 a.m. (Main Street) and a city ordinance violation at 12:45 p.m. (Starker Place). In addition, police assisted another agency at 7:46 a.m. (Kings Valley Highway and Highway 20). PPD reported no traffic stops.
THURSDAY, AUG. 7
• No calls of significance were reported.
Other calls: Police responses included a traffic complaint at 8:05 a.m. (South 19th Street) and a noise disturbance at 10:09 p.m. (College Street). PPD reported four traffic stops.
