The Philomath High girls tennis team picked up a 6-2 home win Thursday over Molalla, sweeping three of four singles matches and taking three of four doubles flights.

At No. 1 singles, Warriors junior Lucy Thomas defeated junior Hannah Dahl, 6-3, 6-2. Senior Lucy King was a 6-1, 6-1 winner over senior Peyton Riggs at No. 2. At No. 3, sophomore Ella Hammonds outlasted junior Emery Raxter in a three-set battle, 7-5, 4-6, 6-3. Molalla’s lone singles win came at No. 4, where junior Payton Ritz topped junior Isabelle Norman, 7-5, 6-3.

In doubles play, the No. 1 team of senior Lucie Oster and junior Clara Neville defeated juniors Gracie Fisher and Natalie Settje, 7-5, 6-3. Molalla won at No. 2, with seniors Evelynn Stephens and Nevaeh Schultz beating sophomores Bethany Cannon and Bella Nunez, 7-5, 6-2.

Philomath closed out the match with wins at Nos. 3 and 4. Senior Maggie King and junior Lizzie Workman fought past seniors Venus Souza and Julian Lussier, 6-0, 6-2, and seniors Logan Cook and Lacey Bacho defeated senior Flor Nicolas Vega and junior Nataly Venegas, 6-4, 6-2.

The Warriors return to action at 4 p.m. Tuesday at North Marion.
