The Philomath Park Advisory Board will tackle several items when it meets Tuesday, including selecting bands for the Music in the Park summer concert series and electing a new chair and vice chair.
The meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Feb. 3 at Philomath City Hall and will be livestreamed on the city’s YouTube channel.
Music in the Park, which debuted in May 2016, will kick off the season just like it had 10 years ago — with a May concert by Philomath students. Other concerts will follow beginning at the end of June.
The board received 15 band applications for this year’s series. Applicants include Dave’s Killer Band, Skip Jones Spirit of New Orleans, Cucanandy, Parish Gap, Wild Hog in the Woods, Zephyr, Küf Knotz and Christine Elise, The Root Vegetables, The Nettles, Sam’s Band, Great American Trainwreck, Ricardo Escobar, Unfamiliar Friends, Lexi Nguyen and Band, and Flying Eye.
Board members will review survey results and develop a recommended list of bands for staff to schedule.
The agenda also includes the election of a chair and vice chair. Current board members are Owen Cass, Yasha Duggal, Candy Garcia, Yvonne McMillan and Larry Sleeman. There are two vacant seats. Spencer Irwin serves in the role of City Council liaison.
The board also plans to address a resident inquiry regarding Triangle Park swings.
