The annual Summit Summer Festival will bring that small rural community to life on Saturday — and yes, Earl Newman is still doing the poster artwork. We have an obituary for former Philomath mayor Rocky Sloan, who passed away last weekend. The City Council came up with five priorities to submit to the League of Oregon Cities for the group’s lobbying agenda. Local resident David Low penned a guest viewpoint with his thoughts on city fees. Rotary invites all to its next program, which will be about suicide awareness.
