VOLUME 7, NUMBER 167
Tuesday, August 4, 2026
Good morning, Philomath.
Brace yourself for a stretch of hot days with a forecast that shows highs in the 90s into Saturday — the National Weather Service issued a heat advisory. Marys River Grange is gearing for its annual fundraiser and needs items for its rummage sale. The city’s Park Advisory Board meets today with an agenda that includes a discussion on the local skate park. The Philomath Police Log includes entries about a felony arrest, a vehicle scam and more. The Fire and Rescue Calls includes a deployment to eastern Oregon to help fight a wildfire. And we have three death notices from McHenry Funeral Home — Jennifer Sorah (1970-2006), Norman Oleman (1931-2026) and Gabrielle Mahoney (1979-2026). Don’t forget, National Night Out runs 6-8 p.m. this evening at City Park. — Brad Fuqua, Publisher/Editor
