Good morning, Philomath.
Another Philomath Classic Car Show and Philomath Frolic and Rodeo are in the books and we have coverage from Saturday. At the car show, I talked to a first-time participant displaying a 1956 Ford F100 that has a deep emotional connection. And at the Frolic’s Grand Parade, I wrote a feature about the company recognized as grand marshals, including Bond Starker. Photographer Andy Cripe was at the parade and we have a gallery. A story coming up later this week will feature the winner of 2027 rodeo queen title (and she’s a local). Philomath Community Services has a fundraiser event coming up that can help the organization’s record needs. The fire department responded to a couple of fireworks-related fires and the police log includes a couple of illegal fireworks situations. And in Philomath in Photos, contributor Eric Niemann captured an image of the city’s water treatment plant beginning construction — a moment that has taken years to reach. — Brad Fuqua, Publisher/Editor
