People arrested or suspected of crimes are considered innocent until proven otherwise.

FRIDAY, JULY 3

• 9:22 p.m. — Police arrested a 22-year-old Corvallis man at Applegate Street and South Eighth Street on a contempt-of-court warrant out of Benton County. The man was issued a citation in lieu of custody.

Other calls: Police responses included a non-911 issue at 5:41 p.m. (North 10th Street). PPD reported 27 traffic stops.

SATURDAY, JULY 4

• 9:38 p.m. — Police located individuals in the area of North 16th Street and Pioneer Street using illegal aerial fireworks. A verbal warning was issued along with information about Oregon fireworks laws.

• 9:48 p.m. — Police located individuals in the 200 block of North Eighth Street using illegal aerial fireworks. A verbal warning was issued along with information about Oregon fireworks laws.

Other calls: Police responses included an extra patrol at 8:09 p.m. (Applegate Street) and a fireworks complaint at 9:50 p.m. (Adelaide Drive). In addition, police assisted another agency on a call at 9:10 p.m. (Acorn Court). PPD reported 19 traffic stops.

SUNDAY, JULY 5

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included a noise disturbance at 2:24 a.m. (South 13th Street) and an argument between a parent and adult child at 3:55 p.m. (North 11th Street). PPD reported 20 traffic stops.

MONDAY, JULY 6

• 2:05 p.m. — Police responded to a disturbance involving an unknown woman who came into the El Cruzero restaurant at the corner of Main Street and South 19th Street and started yelling at customers and “flipping off” staff. After an employee told her he was calling the police, she started walking north on North 19th. Police checked the area and could not find the woman but were provided with a cellphone photo taken by an employee.

Other calls: Police assisted other agencies on calls at 4:30 p.m. (Main Street) and 5:23 p.m. (Newton Street and James Street). PPD reported seven traffic stops.

TUESDAY, JULY 7

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included a report of a loud altercation at 12:31 a.m. (South 20th Street and Applegate Street), civil issue involving cellphone hacking at 11:27 a.m. (North 19th Street) and a protection order violation at 11:33 a.m. (Main Street). In addition, police assisted another agency on a call at 5:51 p.m. (North 19th Street and West Hills Road). PPD reported three traffic stops.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 8

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included dogs barking at 9:06 a.m. (Newton Street), animal complaint at 9:58 a.m. (South 18th Street), welfare check at 11:18 a.m. (Quail Glenn Drive), citizen contact at 1:44 p.m. (Applegate Street), parking complaint at 1:46 p.m. (North 11th Street), animal complaint at 1:47 p.m. (Marys River Park and Natural Area), non-911 issue at 1:48 p.m. (Main Street), non-911 issue at 1:50 p.m. (Main Street) and motorist assistance at 9:30 p.m. (Main Street). In addition, police assisted another agency at 3:18 a.m. (Southwest 53rd Street, Corvallis). PPD reported eight traffic stops.

THURSDAY, JULY 9

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included a non-911 issue at 8:16 a.m. (Main Street) and suspicious persons at 10:22 a.m. (South 19th Street). PPD reported 10 traffic stops.
