Editor’s note: This log is based on information submitted to the newspaper by Philomath Fire & Rescue. Locations are approximate. Following is a rundown of all calls for the period of Sept. 8-14:

FIRE INVESTIGATION
The investigation of an Aug. 4 house fire
on South 15th Street determined the cause
to be by “smoking materials not properly
discarded,” Philomath Fire and Rescue
reported.

FRIDAY, SEPT. 8

• 9:31 a.m. — Emergency medical personnel responded to a motorcycle crash off the road in the 15000 block of Kings Valley Highway. The motorcyclist was transported to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis with non-life-threatening injuries.

Other calls: Emergency medical services responded to calls at 12:06 p.m. in the 32000 block of Fern Road; and 10:51 p.m. in the 2200 block of Rosecrest Drive.

SATURDAY, SEPT. 9

• 5:43 p.m. — Emergency medical personnel were dispatched to the 100 block of North Third Street in Alsea for a report of cardiac arrest but were canceled en route.

Other calls: Emergency medical services responded to calls at 4:10 a.m. in the 3100 block of Richard Place; 10:11  a.m. in the 300 block of Sunshine Avenue; and 7:20 p.m. in the 25000 block of Evergreen Road.

SUNDAY, SEPT. 10

• No calls of public significance reported.

Other calls: Emergency medical services responded to calls at 9:16 a.m. in the 32000 block of Fern Road; 9:20 a.m. on Wildwood Road; 3:04 p.m. in the 500 block of South 13th Street; and 4:27 p.m. in the 24000 block of Chicory Lane.

MONDAY, SEPT. 11

• 3:45 a.m. — Firefighters responded to a house fire in the 25000 block of Cherry Creek Road near Monroe. See separate story.

Other calls: Emergency medical services responded to a call at 7:55 p.m. in the 400 block of South 18th Street.

TUESDAY, SEPT. 12

• 6:54 p.m. — Firefighters conducted a smoke investigation in the area of Southwest Airport Avenue and Cutler Lane.

Other calls: Emergency medical services responded to a calls at 1:35 p.m. in the 1000 block of Applegate Street.

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 13

• 12:40 a.m. — Firefighters responded to a fire alarm in the 700 block of South 16th Street.

Other calls: Emergency medical services responded to a call at 2:50 p.m. in the 25000 block of Evergreen Road.

THURSDAY, SEPT. 14

• 7:17 a.m. — Firefighters responded to a small fire in the area of Southwest Airport Avenue and Cutler Lane. A manure pile in a field had burned after it had sparked through spontaneous combustion (moisture from recent rain and heat created an environment for ignition to occur). Property owners dealt with the issue.
