The occupants of a Monroe-area home that caught fire early Monday morning reportedly escaped with no injuries, Philomath Fire and Rescue reported.
Philomath was called to assist Monroe Rural Fire at the house fire in the 23500 block of Cherry Creek Road just west of Monroe. Philomath sent an engine crew, tender and chief officer.
“This is a single-family dwelling with occupants who woke up to the sounds of fire in the attic,” Philomath Fire and Rescue Deputy Fire Chief Rich Saalsaa said, adding the fire was reported at 3:44 a.m. Sept. 11. “Fire was showing from two sides of the house when units from Monroe first arrived.”
Fire Chief Chancy Ferguson served in the role of water supply officer to manage the delivery of water to the scene, working with Monroe Fire Chief Chris Barnes, incident commander. The Junction City and Harrisburg fire departments also sent units to the fire.
