Other calls: Police responses included a welfare check at 8:17 a.m. (South 15th Street), found bike at 9:02 a.m. (South 26th Street and Green Street), dog complaint at 9:50 a.m. (Applegate Street), abandoned vehicle at 9:54 a.m. (Green Street and South 24th Street), disorderly conduct at 5:59 p.m. (Main Street) and private property tow at 9:26 p.m. (College Street). In addition, police performed extra patrols at 8:21 p.m. (South 13th Street) and 10:23 p.m. (North 18th Street and Pioneer Street). PPD reported one traffic stop.

• 3:10 p.m. — Police responded to a crash at Pioneer Street and North 13th Street. There were reportedly no injuries.
Other calls: Police responses included a non-911 issue at 1:30 p.m. (Newton Street) and a suspicious circumstance at 11:12 p.m (Marlon Street). In addition, police assisted the Benton County Sheriff’s Office on a call at 1:44 a.m. (Southwest Plymouth Drive). PPD reported two traffic stops.

• 12:42 p.m. — Police executed a warrant service in the 900 block of Applegate Street. No other details were made available other than a report was taken and assigned a case number.
Other calls: Police responses included a report of a runaway at 9:48 a.m. (Chapel Drive), abandoned vehicle at 10:03 a.m. (Neabeack Hill Drive and Stoneboro Place), parking complaint at 12:54 p.m. (Main Street), recovered property at 1:05 p.m. (Applegate Street), report of fraud at 3:18 p.m. (Pioneer Street) and lost dog at 5:08 p.m. (South 13th Street). In addition, police assisted another agency on a call at 7:53 p.m. (South 18th Street). PPD reported no traffic stops.

• 8:47 p.m. — Police responded to a narcotics offense in the 100 block of South 13th Street. No other details were made available other than a report was taken and assigned a case number.
• 10:46 p.m. — Police responded to a driving under the influence of intoxicants in the 2600 block of Main Street. No other details were made available other than a report was taken and assigned a case number.

TUESDAY, SEPT. 5
• 7:38 a.m. — Deputies responded to a crash at Maxfield Creek Road and Ward Road in Kings Valley involving a pickup that hit the rear of a dump truck loaded with rock. See separate story.
THURSDAY, SEPT. 7
• 8:36 p.m. — Deputies responded to the 22200 block of Davis Road for a suspicious person complaint. A woman reported that a person who appeared to be a transient was riding around the neighborhood and had left a stroller near a residence. Deputies were unable to find the transient, who reportedly was on a bicycle headed west on Highway 20.
FRIDAY, SEPT. 8
• 9:30 a.m. — Deputies responded to a motorcycle crash on Kings Valley Highway about 2 miles north of the Highway 20 intersection and upon arrival found the operator, a 51-year-old Independence man, and a passenger seated on the ground near the side of the road. Philomath Fire and Rescue responded and reported that one individual with non-life-threatening injuries was transported via Corvallis Fire ambulance to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.
SATURDAY, SEPT. 9
• 1:35 a.m. — Deputies arrested a 21-year-old Burns man on misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants (blood-alcohol content of .08) and reckless driving while investigating a crash in the 6100 block of Southwest Plymouth Drive east of Philomath.
SUNDAY, SEPT. 10
• 8:24 p.m. — Deputies arrested a 25-year-old Corvallis man on a misdemeanor charge of driving while suspended following a traffic stop for speeding on Alsea Highway about 5-1/2 miles south of the Highway 20-34 intersection. The man was cited and released.
MONDAY, SEPT. 11
• 1:46 a.m. — Deputies arrested a 57-year-old Albany man on warrants out of Albany Municipal Court following a traffic stop on Highway 20 about 3 miles west of Philomath. The driver was cited in lieu of custody.

OREGON FATAL CRASH
THURSDAY, SEPT. 14
• 6:41 p.m. — Oregon State Police responded to a motorcycle crash on Interstate 84 about 4 miles west of Arlington in Gilliam County. Scott Bastin, 60, of Simi Valley, California, was killed in the crash. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicates a Honda Goldwing motorcycle was headed west when it traveled out of its lane and onto the inside gravel median for unknown reasons. The Honda continued for several hundred feet down the median and struck a cable divider. The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene.
