FRIDAY, JULY 5

• 2:47 a.m. — Firefighters provided mutual aid to the Corvallis Fire Department at a location on Southwest Fifth Street, Corvallis.

Other calls: Emergency medical services responded to calls at 10:20 a.m. (Rosecrest Drive), 3:24 p.m. (Main Street), 5:43 p.m. (Landmark Drive), 6:28 p.m. (North 14th Street), 7:40 p.m. (North 16th Lane) and 9:05 p.m. (Rosecrest Drive).

SATURDAY, JULY 6

• 4:12 a.m. — Firefighters responded to a fire alarm in the 300 block of South 26th Street.

• 6:56 a.m. — Firefighters provided mutual aid to the Corvallis Fire Department as backup at Fire Station 2 at 500 SW 35th St.

• 2:20 p.m. — Firefighters responded to a fire alarm in the 300 block of South 26th Street.

Other calls: Emergency medical services responded to calls at 1:21 p.m. (Rosecrest Drive), 4:47 p.m. Joseph Lane), 5:14 p.m. (Kings Valley Highway), 6:31 p.m. (Finley Ridge Road) and 10:29 p.m. (Main Street).

SUNDAY, JULY 7

• 1:25 p.m. — Firefighters were dispatched as part of an All-County Response to a location along Highway 34 for a report of a small roadside fire. The Oregon Department of Forestry and Philomath Fire Chief Chancy Ferguson were first on the scene and all other units were canceled. The fire was determined to have been started by a discarded cigarette butt. An All-County Response includes each Benton County fire agency sending a resource to assist the agency who has jurisdiction over the incident. Typical equipment are brush trucks, heavy brush trucks and water tenders. The requesting agency can also make specific requests.

• 10:08 p.m. — Firefighters were dispatched as part of an All-County Response to Southwest 15th Street and Southwest Avery Park Road, Corvallis. Philomath sent a brush truck but was canceled en route. 

Other calls: Emergency medical services responded to calls at 7:10 a.m. (Highway 34), 2:09 p.m. (South 13th Street), 2:28 p.m. (South Fork Road) and 3:13 p.m (Highway 20 and Noon Road). 

MONDAY, JULY 8

• 6:25 a.m. — Firefighters provided mutual aid to the Corvallis Fire Department in the 500 block of Northwest Monroe Avenue, Corvallis.

12:43 p.m. — Firefighters were dispatched as part of an All-County Response to the 24000 block of East Ingram Island Road, Monroe, for a report of a grass fire in a field. Philomath sent a brush truck and a duty officer to assist Monroe Rural Fire. The fire was determined to have been sparked by a harvesting operation with a blade hitting a rock.

• 4:57 p.m. — Firefighters were dispatched as part of an All-County Response to the 24000 block of East Ingram Island Road, Monroe, for a report of a grass fire in the same field that was involved with an earlier response. Philomath sent a brush truck and a duty officer to the scene.

• 5:59 p.m. — Firefighters were dispatched as part of an All-County Response to the 27000 block of East Ingram Island Road, Monroe, for a report of a grass fire in a field. The site of the fire was in a neighboring property to the site of two earlier field fires. The cause of the fire was also determined to be from a grass-harvesting operation.

Other calls: Emergency medical services responded to calls at 12:08 a.m. (Newton Street) and 4:43 p.m. (Decker Road).

TUESDAY, JULY 9

• 2:29 p.m. — Emergency medical personnel responded to a crash on Highway 34 about 3 miles northeast of Alsea. The call was canceled en route.

• 9:30 p.m. — Firefighters responded to a report of a gas line leak at Applegate Street and South 11th Street. Construction crews reportedly hit a one-inch low pressure gas line while working with a backhoe. Philomath sent one engine with a brush truck standing by along with Chief Chancy Ferguson, who served as the incident commander at the scene.

Other calls: Emergency medical services responded to calls at 8:57 a.m. (Applegate Street), 10:58 a.m. (South 19th Street) and 4:34 p.m. (Main Street).

WEDNESDAY, JULY 10

• 2 a.m. — Deputy Fire Chief Rich Saalsaa was sent to the Larch Creek Fire in Dufur as part of the Oregon State Fire Marshal’s Incident Management Team. See separate story.

• 9:38 a.m. — Firefighters provided mutual aid on a call at the Benton County Fairgrounds.

• 11:04 a.m. — Philomath Fire and Rescue personnel were dispatched to the Larch Creek Fire as part of the Benton and Linn County Task Force. Philomath sent Lt. Lindsay Taylor, firefighter Layne Converse, resident firefighter Zander Bradford and a heavy brush truck. See separate story

• 7:10 p.m. — Firefighters responded to a fire alarm in the 2600 block of Rosecrest Drive.

• 3:11 p.m. — Firefighters provided mutual aid in the 1800 block of Southeast Sturdevant Road, Toledo.

• 6:08 p.m. — Firefighters performed an odor investigation in the 1200 block of Pioneer Street.

Other calls: Emergency medical services responded to a call at 9:11 p.m. (North 15th Street).

THURSDAY, JULY 11

• 4:21 p.m. — Firefighters responded to a wildfire in the 27000 block of West Ingram Island Road, Monroe, for a report of a grass fire in a field. Philomath sent a brush truck, tender and a duty officer to assist Monroe Rural Fire.
