DAILY REPORTS

FRIDAY, JULY 5

• 9:58 a.m. — Police responded to a report from the Philomath School District that reported several checks were being used fraudulently. Police reported Monday that the case remained under investigation.

Other calls: Police responses included a welfare check at 12:40 a.m. (Pioneer Street), missing person at 7:30 a.m. (Applegate Street) and a non-911 issue at 9:47 a.m. (College Street). In addition, police assisted Philomath Fire and Rescue on a call at 5:45 p.m. (Landmark Drive). PPD reported 18 traffic stops.

SATURDAY, JULY 6

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included a curfew violation at 1:31 a.m. (Tasman Place), contact with a citizen at 3:52 a.m. (South 14th Street) and a dog found at 8:56 p.m. (Southwest Philomath Boulevard and Southwest 53rd Street, Corvallis). In addition, police assisted the Benton County Sheriff’s Office on a call at 3:01 a.m. (Northwest Oak Creek Drive, Corvallis). PPD reported 13 traffic stops.

SUNDAY, JULY 7

• 9:07 a.m. — Police removed a woman from a local convenience store who was trying to pay for a stolen beer with rocks.

• 3:33 p.m. — Police arrested a 57-year-old Corvallis woman on a misdemeanor charge of second-degree criminal trespass at a local convenience store.

Other calls: Police responses included contact with a citizen at 1:30 a.m. (South Ninth Street and Applegate Street), barking dog at 1:50 a.m. (South 21st Street), welfare check at 6:45 a.m. (Pioneer Street), report of a missing person at 1:49 p.m. (South 15th Street), citizen assistance at 1:50 p.m. (South 13th Street), suicidal subject at 3:39 p.m. and a welfare check at 7:57 p.m. (North 19th Street). PPD reported 14 traffic stops.

MONDAY, JULY 8

• 1:07 p.m. — Police arrested a 56-year-old Philomath man in the 1400 block of Main Street on a warrant for failure to appear on a criminal citation.

• 8:28 p.m. — Police responded at 8:28 p.m. to a noise disturbance in the 500 block of South 19th Street. No other details were made available other than a report was taken and assigned a case number.

Other calls: Police responses included extra patrol at 2:07 p.m. (South 17th and Cedar Street) and citizen assistance at 5:32 p.m. (Applegate Street). In addition, police assisted the Corvallis Police Department on a case at 10:15 p.m. (Northwest Samaritan Drive, Corvallis). PPD reported one traffic stop.

TUESDAY, JULY 9

• 7:13 a.m. — Police responded to a report of fraud in the 1700 block of Pioneer Street. No other details were made available other than a report was taken and assigned a case number.

• 1:23 p.m. — Police arrested Brian David Torres-Andrade, 28, of Corvallis, who was booked on a felony charge of strangulation and four misdemeanor counts of fourth-degree assault following an incident at a Philomath location.

• 9:30 p.m. — Police assisted at the scene of a reported gas line leak at Applegate Street and South 11th Street. Construction crews reportedly hit a one-inch low pressure gas line while working with a backhoe.

• 10:31 p.m. — Police responded to a report of an argument in the 1700 block of Pioneer Street. No other details were made available other than a report was taken and assigned a case number.

Other calls: Police responses included a report of a suspicious person at 12:26 a.m. (Main Street), 911 hang-up call at 11:55 a.m. (Applegate Street) and citizen assistance at 5:52 p.m. (Main Street). In addition, police assisted other agencies on calls at 4:46 p.m. (Main Street) and 11:18 p.m. (Applegate Street and South 11th Street). PPD reported no traffic stops.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 10

• 7:03 a.m. — Police responded to a report of a burglary in the 2800 block of Newton Street. The incident was not assigned a case number.

• 7:34 a.m. — Police responded to a report of a sex-related offense. No other details were made available other than a report was taken and assigned a case number.

• 9:49 a.m. — Police reported that they conducted a warrant service in the 1000 block of Applegate Street. No information on a possible arrest was reported.

Other calls: Police responses included a report of trespassing at 11:40 a.m. (South 14th Street). PPD reported one traffic stop.

THURSDAY, JULY 11

• 10:46 a.m. — Police responded to a crash in the 200 block of North 14th Street. No injuries were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included a parking complaint at 6:20 p.m. (Applegate Street), citizen assistance at 9:14 p.m. (College Street) and a suicidal subject at 9:58 p.m. PPD reported eight traffic stops.
