SATURDAY, JUNE 7
• 11 a.m. — Firefighters responded to a report of a bark dust fire at Mount Union Cemetery. The person who reported the incident was walking the cemetery and noticed smoke from an area in the southeast corner of the property. Crews discovered smouldering bark dust and extinguished the hot spots that covered an area of approximately 20 to 30 feet. The crew returned later to check on the area.

SUNDAY, JUNE 8
• 12:37 p.m. — Firefighters were dispatched to assist with a possible large wildland fire near Lobster Valley Road. The Philomath response was canceled prior to arrival.

Philomath fire officials urge residents to halt outdoor burning as fire danger rises
Philomath Fire and Rescue issued an urgent request to residents of the fire district Thursday to refrain from any outdoor debris burning, including burn barrels, from Friday through Tuesday due to increased fire danger in the area. TUESDAY, JUNE 10
• 6:16 p.m. — Firefighters responded to a bark dust fire near South 17th Street and Applegate Street. Upon arrival, the crew extinguished hot spots.
Other calls: Emergency medical services responded to calls at 2:33 a.m. (South 19th Street) and 7:44 a.m. (North Ninth Street).
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 11

THURSDAY, JUNE 12
• 5:18 p.m. — Firefighters responded to a report of a burn pile that was unattended. Upon arrival, the crew found that a 10-by-20-foot area was smoldering. The pile had been burned several months previous and fire was smoldering through heavy organic material. The crew extinguished the fire to prevent further spread.
