A pregnancy resource center on wheels is expanding its presence in Philomath with weekly visits and a second organization plans to send out a bus of its own to begin diaper distribution this week in the community, organizers announced.
“We are a medical clinic that specializes in pregnancy diagnosis,” Options Pregnancy Resource Centers Clinic Director Leslie Weeber said. “What that means is our nurses run urine pregnancy tests — and then between the weeks of like six to 22 weeks, we can offer an ultrasound and that really helps to actually diagnose the pregnancy and that can give accurate information for dating.”
Based in Albany, Options has a mobile unit that serves Philomath, Corvallis, Monmouth and Independence with free services. Weeber said the mobile service could soon be expanding to Sweet Home. When visiting Philomath, the clinic sets up on Wednesdays in the Marys Peak True Value parking lot.

Besides pregnancy tests and obstetric ultrasounds, Options also provides information on courses of action for unplanned pregnancies, referrals to physicians and community services and prenatal vitamins for nutritional support.
“I would still say it’s a pretty underserved and underutilized resource,” Weeber said about the Philomath visits. “It varies — it seems like occasionally we’ll have one patient, sometimes we’ll have up to two or three but that’s pretty rare.”
Dr. Shane Gjesda serves as the clinic’s medical provider and reads the ultrasounds.
The Options mobile clinic can schedule up to three patients per day with Wednesday appointment times of 10:30 a.m., noon and 2 p.m., Weeber said.
“We do take walk-ins so that’s totally OK or they can schedule an appointment,” Weeber said.
Appointments can be scheduled by calling 541-924-0160 or texting 541-231-0912.
Bambinos Oregon launches service in Philomath
Bambinos Oregon also offers free services and will be visiting Philomath each month on the third Wednesday by parking its Bambus next to Options in the True Value lot. Bambinos will provide a full pack of diapers and baby wipes upon request once per month.
“They contacted us because they just got a new bus mobile service,” Weeber said. “They knew about our services and since we provide different services, they were wanting to partner with us.”
A ribbon-cutting ceremony for Bambinos Oregon’s launch of services in Philomath is scheduled for 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, June 18.
Based in Dallas, the organization describes itself as “a prayerful, nonprofit ministry that aims to reduce stress for families of young children in our region. We demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ by providing essential baby supplies, safety equipment, community partnerships and compassionate support to those in need.”
Services beyond the diapers are available at the organization’s Dallas location (322 Main St., No. 200). For those with questions, Bambinos Oregon can be reached at 503-623-4618.

The main goal of the organization you featured in your article is to persuade women against abortion. As well, their practices are misleading and manipulative.
