FRIDAY, JUNE 26

• 10:13 a.m. — Firefighters responded to a fire alarm activation in the 500 block of South 19th Street.

• 2:05 p.m. — Firefighters were dispatched to a crash reportedly with injuries at Main and 26th streets and responded with nine personnel in an engine, a rescue vehicle and a command vehicle. Upon arrival, crews found a two-vehicle collision with moderate damage to both vehicles. One driver was assessed and transported to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center by a Corvallis Fire Department ambulance. The second driver declined a medical assessment.

• 7:11 p.m. — Firefighters responded to a fire alarm activation in the 1000 block of North 19th Street.

SATURDAY, JUNE 27

• No calls of public significance reported.

Other calls: Emergency medical services responded to calls at 1:42 p.m. (Applegate Street) and 8:28 p.m. (Quail Glenn Drive).

SUNDAY, JUNE 28

• 4:21 p.m. — Firefighters dispatched to the 1600 block of Bailey Street extinguished a barn fire located behind a residence. See separate story.

• 6:29 p.m. — Firefighters were dispatched to a smoke investigation in the 3100 block of Main Street and responded with five personnel in an engine. Crews were advised that residents had used a fire extinguisher on an oven fire but still wanted the fire department to respond to confirm it was fully extinguished. The Philomath crew used a thermal imaging camera to determine that the fire was contained to the oven and successfully extinguished with the extinguisher.

Other calls: Emergency medical services responded to calls at 2:33 a.m. (Applegate Street) and 6:56 a.m. (South 23rd Street).

MONDAY, JUNE 29

• 3:37 p.m. — Firefighters were dispatched to a small fire in the 1800 block of Ash Street and responded with seven personnel in an engine, a brush vehicle and a command vehicle. Upon arrival, crews found a 2-by-4-foot area of burned grass on the north side of the road. Crews confirmed the fire was out. Remnants of fireworks were located in the street adjacent to the fire.

• 10:39 p.m. — Firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire in the 400 block of South 30th Street and responded with seven personnel in an engine and two command vehicles. Upon arrival, crews found that a toaster outlet had sparked and the toaster power cord had split. Power was shut off, and the toaster was unplugged. No further hazards were identified. The homeowner was encouraged not to use the toaster and to have an electrician inspect the outlet in the morning.

TUESDAY, JUNE 30

• 10:38 a.m. — Firefighters were dispatched to a wildland fire at Coon Road and Cherry Creek Road in the Monroe Rural Fire Protection District and responded with four personnel in an engine and a command vehicle. The Philomath crew was staged at the Monroe fire station for district coverage during the incident.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 1

• 6:27 p.m. — Firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire in the 31000 block of Peterson Road and responded with eight personnel in two engines and two command vehicles. Upon arrival, crews found no fire indicators and located a malfunctioning fire alarm. Homeowners were advised to acquire new smoke or smoke/carbon monoxide monitors in the morning and contact an electrician to determine whether there was a system failure.

THURSDAY, JULY 2

• 10 a.m. — Firefighters were dispatched to a crash reportedly with injuries in the 1100 block of North Ninth Street and responded with five personnel in an engine, a rescue vehicle and a command vehicle. Upon arrival, crews found a two-vehicle head-on collision with moderate damage. The occupants were out of their vehicles. One patient was transported by a Corvallis Fire Department ambulance, and the other declined transport. Crews contained fluid leaking from the vehicles.
