FRIDAY, AUG. 2
• 6:11 p.m. — Philomath Fire and Rescue served on standby for fire and medical calls in the Corvallis Fire District.
• 6:56 p.m. — While returning from a standby assignment in Corvallis, Philomath emergency medical services personnel were dispatched to a crash at Southwest 53rd Street and Hillview Drive. The crash involved a pickup with no passengers that rear-ended a vehicle with four occupants, including two children. The driver of the pickup refused a medical assessment. The driver and three passengers in the other vehicle were briefly assessed and declined ambulance transportation.

SATURDAY, AUG. 3
• 1:10 a.m. — Firefighters responded to a report of power lines down in the 300 block of North 17th Street with a single engine crew. Upon arrival, the crew found a tree had fallen over due to high winds and was wrestling on a power line drop to a residence. No fire or active arcing was seen. Pacific Power was notified of the situation.
• 9:55 p.m. — Fire and Rescue provided mutual aid on a call in the 1700 block of Feagles Creek Road in the Harlan vicinity.
Other calls: Emergency medical services responded to calls at 4:25 p.m. (Main Street), 7:57 p.m. (Dove Place) and 10:51 p.m. (Rosecrest Drive).
SUNDAY, AUG. 4
• No calls of public significance reported.

MONDAY, AUG. 5
• 10:30 a.m. — Philomath Fire and Rescue sent firefighters (Lt. Paula Anderson and Kolton Guilford) and a heavy brush engine as part of a Benton County task force to the Elk Lane Fire near Madras. Later in the morning, Deputy Fire Chief Rich Saalsaa was sent to the fire as part of an Oregon State Fire Marshal incident management team. See separate story.

TUESDAY, AUG. 6
• 5:10 a.m. — Fire and Rescue provided mutual aid on a call in the 3300 block of Southeast Summerfield Drive in Corvallis.

WEDNESDAY, AUG. 7
• 1:14 a.m. — Firefighters responded to an alarm in the 200 block of South 18th Street.
• 4:42 p.m. — Emergency medical personnel responded in an automatic aid capacity to assist Hoskins-Kings Valley Rural Fire with a near-drowning incident in the Little Luckiamute River near Tatum Lane in Kings Valley. A 34-year-old Newport-area man was transported to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis in stable condition. See separate story.
• 6:41 p.m. — Firefighters responded to a report of a power pole fire and a small brush fire in the 30000 block of Beaver Creek Road. The fire had been mostly extinguished by a property owner. See separate story.
