FRIDAY, JAN. 3
• 4:25 p.m. — Firefighters responded to a report from a resident on Wonderly Lane who could see and smell smoke coming from behind a neighbor’s barn. Firefighters learned that an unintentional burn had ignited when a burning box was placed on a wet pile the previous day during rainfall. The burn pile had caught fire but was in the smoldering stage. Private individuals were to monitor until extinguished.
Other calls: Emergency medical services responded to calls at 6:55 a.m. (South 18th Street), 9:44 p.m. (Grouse Place) and 10:55 p.m. (Pleasant View Drive).
SATURDAY, JAN. 4

SUNDAY, JAN. 5
• 1:54 p.m. — Emergency medical services personnel responded to a report of a crash in the 500 block of Neabeack Hill Drive. Upon arrival, the crew discovered that it was not a crash but an individual sleeping in his car.

MONDAY, JAN. 6

TUESDAY, JAN. 7

Other calls: Emergency medical services responded to calls at 12:43 p.m. (Chapel Drive) and 1:01 p.m. (Ervin Road).
WEDNESDAY, JAN. 8
• 4:40 p.m. — Firefighters responded to a report that was initially a smoke investigation but upgraded to a possible structure fire in the 900 block of College Street. The caller reported smoke coming from an oven that could not be shut off. Firefighters, who had moved the oven outside for safety reasons, determined that it may have accidentally been set to cleaning mode. The caller believed that had not been done and firefighters advised the person to call the landlord to report the possibility of an oven that had malfunctioned. The crew used a fan to remove the odor of smoke from the structure.
Other calls: Emergency medical services responded to calls at 5:50 a.m. (West Hills Road), 12:31 p.m. (Llewellyn Road) and 1:31 p.m. (Rosecrest Drive).
THURSDAY, JAN. 9
• 9:25 a.m. — Emergency medical services responded to a two-vehicle crash with possible injuries at Main Street and South 24th Street. Three individuals in one vehicle were reportedly not injured and declined medical attention. The driver in the other vehicle was assessed for minor knee pain. All individuals decline transportation to the hospital.
• 10:13 a.m. — Emergency medical services responded to a crash at Highway 20 and Kings Valley Highway involving a log truck that had overturned. Upon arrival, Fire and Rescue found the log truck and half of its trailer still on its wheels in one lane of traffic and the second half of the trailer overturned with its load of logs off the highway. No injuries were reported.
