Philomath’s Music in the Park series continues Wednesday with Dave’s Killer Band, a Salem-based group known for its smooth-to-funky mix of jazz fusion, R&B and Yacht Rock.

The concert runs from 6-8 p.m. at Philomath City Park. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and enjoy a free evening of live music with friends and family.

The band is a professional four-piece from Oregon’s mid-central Willamette Valley, built around guitar, keys, bass and drums. Its sound leans on melodic interplay and an expressive, dynamic feel that mixes rock and R&B instrumentation with a stylish jazz-fusion base — the kind of music made for dancing as much as listening.

Philomath Community Library will provide free family-friendly activities and the Philomath Lions Club will offer reduced-cost concessions as part of its community outreach efforts. Alcohol is not permitted at the event.

Admission is free, though donations are welcome to the Philomath Performing Arts Benefit Fund, which directly supports Philomath students.
