The Friends and Foundation of the Corvallis-Benton County Public Library will hold its annual Fall Festival Book Sale this weekend, organizers announced.
The three-day sale runs Friday through Sunday, Sept. 25-27, at the Corvallis library located at 645 NW Monroe, which is directly adjacent to Central Park where Corvallis Fall Festival activities will be taking place.
Proceeds from the sale benefit activities in the library system, which includes locations in Alsea, Corvallis, Monroe and Philomath, as well as the bookmobile.
Volunteers at the Friends and Foundation’s south Corvallis warehouse have spent weeks sorting through donated books to prepare for the sale, according to team lead Sally Shaw.
“Currently we’re focused on preparing paperback fiction, nonfiction and children’s books for the Fall Festival Book Sale,” Shaw said. “This popular sale is a favorite with readers wanting to stock up on paperbacks. Buyers can choose from over 4,500 books plus CDs, DVDs and puzzles.”
Adult books will cost $3 each or four for $10. Children’s books will be $2 each or six for $10. Prices will be cut in half on the sale’s final day.
Donors who have given $20 or more to the Friends and Foundation in the past year can take advantage of early entrance hours from noon to 3 p.m. Friday. Donations can be made at the door or online in advance at cbcplfriendsandfoundation.org/give-now.
The sale will be open to the general public:
- Friday, Sept. 25: 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- Saturday, Sept. 26: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Sunday, Sept. 27: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
