As the calendar turns to a new year, the Benton County Historical Society will host a children’s activity Saturday morning at Philomath Museum that focuses on time.
In the museum’s latest installment of its Discovery Day program, “Clockworks and Time Capsules” will run Jan. 4 from 10 a.m.-noon at the Moreland Gallery. Children of all ages are invited to participate, including making a time capsule as a hands-on activity.
In addition, “Clocksmith Cyrus,” who operates a clocksmith shop in Corvallis, will display the inner workings of antique clocks so kids can get an up-close look.
Registration for the free family event is not required but organizers said they appreciate courtesy RSVPs for those planning to attend. Visit the event page on the museum’s website to find a registration link.
