The Philomath City Council is reaching out to the community with an online survey for input on how to spend $160,000 that remains in funding made available through the American Rescue Plan Act.
The city’s Budget Committee in 2022 approved the use of ARPA funds to pay for a $1.1 million sewer line project on South 17th and 18th streets. Funds will also be used for projects to update the City Council’s meeting room at City Hall for hybrid and live-streaming meeting capacity, a new kiosk at City Hall, new holiday light post decorations for the downtown area and new technology to expand public access to city documents online.
Beyond those projects, $160,000 remains to be spent on community projects. City councilors debated how to use the remaining funds and ultimately decided to organize a survey.
