The Philomath Boys Soccer Futsal Camp is registering boys and girls in grades 6-12, high school soccer coach Dave Ellis announced. The camp will meet from 6-8 p.m. Sundays in the PHS gymnasiums from May 7-28 and June 11-18.

Futsal, an indoor soccer game developed in Brazil using a low-bounce ball intended for gym floors, features quick play and tight spaces to help develop foot skills and calm under pressure.

The cost is $40 per play. There are family discounts of $70 for two siblings and $90 for three or more.

Ellis said the sessions will include approximately 30 minutes of speed and agility, 30 minutes of technical instruction and 60 minutes of playing small-sided games (4-vs-4 to 8-vs-8). The group will be divided by ability for fitness and technical reasons but games may be mixed at times for fun.

To register, email Ellis at dslaellis@outlook.com with your child’s name and grade. Participants can bring to the first session a signed liability release form (click on this link for a PDF that can be downloaded and printed) and a check or cash (place cash in an envelope with the child’s name).
