The Philomath School Board will discuss the use of cellphones and an elementary student body fee during a meeting scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday at the school district office.
Both of those topics appear under the meeting agenda’s strategy and discussion topics along with a report from the school superintendent.
After voting on a consent agenda, the board will choose a chair and vice chair for 2024-25, listen to public comments, share a decision on an administrative-related complaint, discuss designations and roles within the district, confirm the board’s meeting schedule, set a board retreat date and consider having an in-service barbecue.
The consent agenda includes routine designations that are revisited on an annual basis, an out-of-state travel request to send four teachers to the CareerTech Vision Conference in San Antonio in December and a number of personnel and staff adjustments, which includes resignations, new hires and coaching assignments.
Board members will begin the evening at 5:30 p.m. in executive session as allowed by law.
The Philomath School District office is located at 1620 Applegate St., with access to the meeting through a door at the back of the building. Meetings are also streamed on the school district’s YouTube channel.
