The Philomath Fire and Rescue Board of Directors plans to meet at 3 p.m. Monday at Station 201 with an agenda that includes the election of officers, swearing-in of a staff captain and setting regular meeting dates.

New business on the meeting agenda includes selecting a board president, vice president and treasurer for the 2024-25 fiscal year. Viktor Bovbjerg will take the captain’s oath and members will decide whether or not to continue having their monthly meetings at 3 p.m. on the second Monday. There will also be a discussion on the district’s ISO rating — an insurance-related score that determines how well a fire department can protect its community and homes.

Several other older points of business are also among the discussion points, such as board policy updates, personnel manual and administrative directives, the volunteer activities account, job description updates and updates related to city projects.

Time is also provided for reports from the fire chief, deputy fire chief, office administrator, volunteer association, firefighter union and city liaison.

The fire station is located at 1035 Main St. The meeting can also be accessed through Zoom (see the agenda for instructions).
