The Philomath High School boys golf team finished fifth Monday in a tournament at Mallard Creek Golf Course near Lebanon.

Cascade won the team competition with a score of 329, followed by Sweet Home at 343, North Marion at 360 and Newport at 368. Philomath finished with a team score of 434.

Senior Roman Robins led the Warriors with an 18-hole round of 92, going 48 on the front nine and 44 on the back. He finished 11th overall in the field.

Junior Jamin Peters came in at 98 — a 50-48 effort across the two nines — to finish 22nd, while fellow junior Lane Bettencourt posted a 119 (60-59) to place 26th.

Freshman Conrad Yates and sophomore Avery Petrovich each finished 27th with matching scores of 125. Yates went 65-60 and Petrovich 59-66.

Philomath’s next meet is scheduled for Monday, April 20, at Langdon Farms Golf Club in Aurora, with a 1:15 p.m. start time.
