Senior Lucy King set the tone at No. 1 singles and the Warriors swept all four doubles positions as Philomath’s girls tennis team defeated Estacada 6-2 on Thursday.

King was dominant in her win over junior Ruby Anderson, dropping just one game in a 6-0, 6-1 victory. Sophomore Ella Hammonds also came through at No. 4 singles, outlasting senior Etta Baird 7-5, 6-2 in the match’s most competitive singles contest.

Estacada took the other two singles spots. Senior Eden Tourville picked up a default win over junior Lucy Thomas at No. 2, and junior Piper Hambelton defeated junior Cecilia Milesi 6-2, 6-4 at No. 3.

Philomath’s doubles teams were dominant across the board, winning all four positions without dropping a set. Senior Maggie King and junior Lizzie Workman took a 6-0, 6-1 win over juniors Nicole Paellson and Camila Spieth at No. 1. Seniors Logan Cook and Lacey Bacho were equally commanding at No. 2, blanking freshmen Christine Ashabraner and Virsaviya Kharlamov 6-0, 6-0.

Sophomores Bethany Cannon and Bella Nuñez handled freshman Janessa Fitch and senior Mazzy Yandell at No. 3, 6-0, 6-1. Juniors Clara Neville and Isabelle Norman took a 6-1, 6-2 win over freshmen Dicthe Kaehlershoej and Maria Sole at No. 4.
