Philomath residents interested in providing input toward downtown revitalization efforts are invited to an in-person meeting scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Thursday at City Hall.
Officially known as the Philomath Area Wide Plan Community Visioning Workshop, the city and consultant partner, Stantec, are conducting the downtown planning project with an emphasis on properties that are located along Main Street and Applegate Street between 11th and 15th streets.
The event’s in-person attendance will be limited to the first 50 people.
According to the city, the project’s goal is “to engage with community members to identify potential strategies that would support business recruitment/retention, elevate quality of life and promote economic development in the focus area.”
Community members can learn about the project and provide ideas. The meeting will include a brief presentation followed by breakout sessions to provide feedback on specific topics.
For those unable to attend in person, participation is available via conference call or Zoom video conference. Contact the city manager’s office (541-929-6148) by 5 p.m. Thursday to make arrangements.
The city also plans to live-stream the event on its Facebook page.
The city announced that a quorum of the Philomath City Council may be present at the public workshop, either in person, via Zoom or watching via Facebook.
