The Philomath High School volleyball team dominated Hidden Valley on the road Tuesday night in a Class 4A play-in match to move on to the state tournament. The Warriors defeated the Grants Pass school, 25-9, 25-18, 25-22.

The victory sends Philomath (10-9) in a first-round match against No. 4-seeded Mazama. The Warriors head into the tournament as the No. 13 seed. The match is scheduled to be played on Saturday at a time to be determined.

The Vikings (19-1) won the Skyline Conference championship and their only loss this season came to a 6A school in a tournament.

Against Hidden Valley, the Warriors rolled with senior Sage Kramer leading in the hitting department with 23 kills. Senior Ashlynn Barron had six kills and junior Abigail Brown had five.
