The Philomath High School volleyball team dominated Hidden Valley on the road Tuesday night in a Class 4A play-in match to move on to the state tournament. The Warriors defeated the Grants Pass school, 25-9, 25-18, 25-22.
The victory sends Philomath (10-9) in a first-round match against No. 4-seeded Mazama. The Warriors head into the tournament as the No. 13 seed. The match is scheduled to be played on Saturday at a time to be determined.
The Vikings (19-1) won the Skyline Conference championship and their only loss this season came to a 6A school in a tournament.
Against Hidden Valley, the Warriors rolled with senior Sage Kramer leading in the hitting department with 23 kills. Senior Ashlynn Barron had six kills and junior Abigail Brown had five. At the service line, Barron had four aces, Kramer had two and senior Reagan Larson had one.
