A shark researcher from Oregon State University will share insights, dispel myths and bring a science-based appreciation to the waterfront during the Philomath Rotary Club’s Jan. 21 meeting. The club invites anyone interested to attend the Tuesday event, which is scheduled to begin at noon in Peace Lutheran Church’s Fellowship Hall.

Taylor Chapple, associate professor at OSU Fisheries, Wildlife and Conservation Sciences who leads the Chapple Big Fish Lab will describe the organization’s research on sharks and how they work with local communities to share the information — including Philomath.Lunch will be provided (for meal-planning purposes, organizers ask attendees to RSVP via email to rotaryfred@hotmail.com).
