Various services for families and individuals in need are available in Philomath. Here is a rundown of what’s available, including a dental van that will be in town on Friday.
Dental Van
When: Friday, Feb. 19, 8 a.m.-1 p.m.
Where: Philomath Community Services, 360 S. Ninth St.
What: Dental services (fillings or extractions) for those ages 19 and older without insurance. Those interested must call for an appointment by calling 541-929-2535. A service provided by Strengthening Rural Families, Medical Teams International and Samaritan Health Services.
School Meals
When: Weekdays, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
Where: Philomath Middle School, 2021 Chapel Drive
What: Free grab-and-go meals (lunch and breakfast) for everyone ages 18 and under. To preorder meals, go online to www.csd509j.net/departments/food-nutrition-services/school-menus.
Food Bank
When: Tuesdays, 4:30-7:30 p.m., Thursdays, 9 a.m.-noon
Where: Philomath Community Services, 360 S. Ninth St.
What: Food for low-income families and individuals. Requirements include registering annually with the Food Bank, residence within the food bank’s geographic area of west of 53rd Street, Corvallis to the western border of Benton County and completion of refrigerator/freezer form. Gleaners
When: Wednesdays, 4-6 p.m., Saturdays, noon-2 p.m.
Where: Philomath Community Services, 360 S. Ninth St.
What: Local food harvesting and woodshare programs that benefit low-income families and individuals. To sign up for the program or for more information, call 541-829-3980 or 541-231-7127. June’s Kids Kloset
When: Tuesdays, 4:30-7:30 p.m., Thursdays, 9 a.m.-noon
Where: Philomath Community Services, 360 S. Ninth St.

Neighbor to Neighbor Soup Kitchen
When: Tuesdays, 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Where: College United Methodist Church, 1123 Main St.
What: Open to anyone in need of a hot meal.
Tax-Aide Program
When: Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays through April 10
Where: Philomath City Hall, 1010 Applegate St.
What: The AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program offers preparation assistance. Volunteers help people figure their taxes through in-person assistance and e-filing. An AARP membership is not required. PYAC Child Care
When: Weekdays, 2-6 p.m.
Where: Philomath Youth Activities Club, 421 S. 19th St.What: Limited spots available for children in kindergarten to age 12 in STARS program.
