The latest information on the prospects of returning students to classrooms in a hybrid learning model is among the items appearing on the agenda for the Philomath School Board’s meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16.

Ready Schools, Safe Learners — the state’s moniker for its pandemic-related health and safety guidance — will be among the meeting’s discussion points with an update from Superintendent Susan Halliday and a review of operational blueprints for Clemens Primary and Philomath Elementary schools that are required by the Oregon Department of Education as part of school re-entry plans.

The board is also expected to take a look at a draft district calendar for 2021-22 and possibly returning to in-person board meetings in March.

Other agenda items include the latest status involving the district’s superintendent search, a look at licensed contract renewals, a second reading on various policy revisions and other routine business.

School Board members are scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. in executive session to discuss labor negotiations.

School Board members include chair Shelley Niemann, Greg Gerding, Anton Grube, Jim Kildea and Karen Skinkis.

The school board will hold the meeting via Zoom. The public can watch the live feed on the school board’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/PhilomathSchools. To read the full agenda and packet, click here.
